Padres official says Headley won't be traded

A Padres official told Joel Sherman of the New York Post on Monday that Chase Headley will not be traded.
Some have suggested -- in the wake of the news that Alex Rodriguez needs another hip surgery -- that the Yankees should pursue Headley. But the 28-year-old third baseman is still pretty cheap and has steadily developed into one of the best all-around players in the sport. The Friars have no reason to move him.
