Mets getting serious about R.A. Dickey trade
R.A. Dickey - S - New York Mets
Dec. 3, 2012 - 1:40 PM ET

According to ESPN's Jayson Stark, the Mets have "gotten serious" about trading starter R.A. Dickey.

It appears that negotiations toward a multi-year extension between the Mets and the 38-year-old knuckleballer have fallen apart. Stark calls the Rangers and Royals the "most logical fits," but other teams could join the fray at this week's Winter Meetings. Dickey won the National League Cy Young Award in 2012 after posting a 2.73 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 230/54 K/BB ratio in 233 2/3 innings. The Mets will want prospects in return.
