AFL photosNEW YORK - The Arena Football League and NBC agreed Monday to extend their unique broadcasting agreement through 2006.
The league and the network are currently in the second season of a two-year deal for which NBC paid no rights fee. The agreement also allows the network to share in league revenues.
The original deal included a four-year option at the end of the second year, though both sides said the two-year extension was mutually agreed upon.
This season’s schedule includes coverage of 17 regular-season games and five playoff games, ending with the ArenaBowl on June 27.
NBC is a partner in the joint venture MSNBC.com.
