Padres general manager Josh Byrnes said the team has interest in re-signing Jason Marquis.
"He's on the radar," said Byrnes. "The more we looked around, he's a guy we're talking about." Marquis' 2012 season ended prematurely in mid-August when he suffered a fractured left hand after being hit by a comebacker. He pitched pretty well in his time with the Padres, though, posting a 4.04 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over 15 outings. He wouldn't be a bad guy to have around for depth, given that it should only take a minor league deal.
