Phillies 'check in' on Chone Figgins

Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Phillies have "checked in" on Chone Figgins.
Morosi notes that the extent of their interest is unclear at this time. The Phillies don't have starters locked in at third base or left field, so it makes sense that they have some interest in Figgins. Whether or not they view him as a regular isn't known. Figgins was cut loose last month by the Mariners, who ate the remaining $8 million on his contract.
