Bills coach Chan Gailey is now backing off previous stated desires to find a quarterback of the future and claims Ryan Fitzpatrick is "going to be the guy."
Not if GM Buddy Nix has anything to say about it. "I think we've always said we're looking to develop a quarterback for the future, but I don't think it's the near future," said Gailey. "I think we're talking about Fitz being the guy for us, and as we continue to get better, I think he's going to be the guy." Nix is on record this year voicing his plan to draft a quarterback in 2013 and plug him right into the starting lineup. Gailey can say what he wants, but he may not be around much longer at this rate. Fitzpatrick ranks No. 18 in QB rating and is averaging a paltry 6.7 YPA this season. He's not the long-term answer.
