Mike Napoli 'determined' to get fourth year

According to Jim Bowden of ESPN.com, Mike Napoli is "determined" to get a fourth year and is "waiting on the Red Sox or Rangers to blink."
Bowden also adds that the Mariners are still in the mix. It's certainly no surprise that Napoli is trying to squeeze an extra year out of someone, as the 33-year-old realizes that this is his last chance to strike it rich as a free agent. Napoli wasn't given a qualifying offer by the Rangers and thus won't be linked to draft pick compensation.
