While the Rangers are still interested in Justin Upton, Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com hears that they're waiting to see if the Diamondbacks will back off their demand of either Elvis Andrus or Jurickson Profar being the centerpiece of a deal.
The Rangers are probably hoping the D'Backs relent and agree to accept Mike Olt as the primary return in the deal, but to this point Arizona isn't budging. Given how early it is in the offseason, it's not surprising that both clubs are drawing a line in the sand to this point. D'Backs owner Ken Kendrick is on record as saying he expects Upton to be with the team next year, but it's obvious they're willing to part with him for the right price.
