The Rangers have entered contract extension talks with Matt Harrison.
Harrison went 18-11 with a 3.29 ERA in 32 starts (213 1/3 innings) for the Rangers last season and finished eighth in the American League Cy Young voting. Talks between the sides are reportedly in the preliminary stages, but GM Jon Daniels indicated an extension could be finalized prior to the start of spring training. Harrison made $2.95 million last season and has two years of arbitration remaining before he's eligible for free agency.
