49ers coach Jim Harbaugh admitted Friday he's not publicly naming a starting quarterback for "competitive" reasons.
"We feel like there's no competitive advantage for us to release that information for our organization and our team," Harbaugh said. It's a breath of fresh air from a typically oblique coach, but doesn't add any mystery to the 49ers' quarterback situation. Colin Kaepernick is going to start, and that's surely whom the Saints have been preparing for all week. He's the No. 10 quarterback in Rotoworld's Week 12 rankings.
