Teater cards his lowest opening round of 2013

Josh Teater opened the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial with a 5-under-par 35-30=65, finishing three strokes off the clubhouse lead.
If you were expecting a letdown following Monday's medalist bid at the 36-hole qualifier for The Open Championship, think ahead. Teater hit 15 greens at Colonial today and circled seven birdies. His set included conversions from 18'3" at the second hole and 15'5" at 7. He incurred bogeys at Nos. 4 and 5, the second of which as a result of a three-putt from just inside 53 feet. Today's score is his lowest opening aggregate since last year's stop at Pebble Beach over 15 months ago.
