Robert Griffin III completed 20-of-28 passes for 311 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception and rushed six times for 29 yards as the Redskins held off the Cowboys 38-31 on Thanksgiving Day.
Cowboys DC Rob Ryan's game plan was obviously blitz heavy, sending 5-6 pass rushers on virtually every play to begin the contest. Ryan had to back off when Griffin engineered four first-half touchdown drives, grabbing a 28-3 lead. RG3 dialed up a second-quarter moonshot TD bomb to Aldrick Robinson from 68 yards away, and found Pierre Garcon over the middle for a late first-half intermediate strike that Garcon took 59 yards to the house. Griffin's third passing touchdown came off a bootleg deep in the red zone, and Santana Moss got both feet in bounds for the six-yard score. The Cowboys appeared to blow coverage on No. 4, which came early in the fourth quarter and was complete to TE Niles Paul. Griffin's TD-INT ratio is now 16:4. He's also accounted for 22 TDs and only six turnovers through 11 games. The Redskins host the Giants next.
