Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com was told by a Diamondbacks source that there is a "90 percent chance" Justin Upton will still be with the team when spring training begins.
Heyman notes, though, that the D'Backs are "still open to listening to a deal," and the percentage "could change as the winter goes on." The feeling had been that the Rangers were a potential trade partner, but that no longer looks to be the case since they appear unwilling to move either Elvis Andrus or Jurickson Profar. Heyman says the D'Backs are looking for a young shortstop and pitcher back in any potential Upton deal.
