Lance Berkman met with Astros owner Jim Crane last week, and Crane said the 36-year-old "expressed some interest in maybe working a deal out."
A lot depends on how Berkman's surgically-repaired knee responds and how interested contending teams might be, but it appears Berkman going back to Houston could be a fit. Crane did note that the decision would ultimately be up to general manager Jeff Luhnow and manager Bo Porter. "I think he has an interest," Crane said. "All of that will depend on his knee and probably the price, if he get any other offers or what. If all that works out, and there are a lot of ifs there, possibly he could do some DHing (designated hitter) for us."
