Yankees manager Joe Girardi has conceded that "there's a little bit of a question" whether or not Derek Jeter (ankle) will be ready for Opening Day.
Jeter underwent surgery on his fractured left ankle in late October and was given a 4-5 month rehab timetable. As long as he doesn't have any notable setbacks, he should be OK by the opener, but it's fair to question how fast a 38-year-old coming off major surgery will heal. "I think there's a little bit of a question," Girardi said. "Because of the rehab and you have to get the full strength and maybe you're not able to start doing the things you normally would in January. I mean, it could be (that he's not ready for Opening Day), but I think he'll find a way."
