Potter, Jr. runs in place in his second round
May 17, 2013 - 7:15 PM ET

Ted Potter, Jr. settled for an even-par 33-37=70 in his second round of the HP Byron Nelson Championship to reach the halfway point in 6-under 134, five strokes off the 36-hole lead.

Potter, Jr. sunk four birdies on par 4s today, including a round-closing 19-footer at the ninth hole, but he wiped them off with two bogeys and a double. The over-par holes included a three-putt from just inside 37 feet at the par-3 second and a 6 at the par-4 eighth where he found a greenside bunker with his approach and needed to blasts to escape.
