Price edges out Verlander for AL Cy Young

The Rays' David Price has been announced as the American League Cy Young winner.
It was the closest vote since there was a tie in 1969, as Price edged out Justin Verlander by a mere four points. He received 14 first-place votes to Verlander's 13. The other finalist, Jered Weaver, finished a distant third and didn't get a first-plate vote. Price's teammate, Fernando Rodney, received the final first-place vote.
