Jays to acquire Buehrle, Johnson from Marlins
Josh Johnson - S - Miami Marlins
Nov. 13, 2012 - 6:45 PM ET

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, the Blue Jays are close to acquiring Josh Johnson and Mark Buehrle from the Marlins in exchange for Yunel Escobar, Adeiny Hechavarria, Henderson Alvarez and Justin Nicolino.

Not only that, but Rosenthal says Jose Reyes "could" be in the deal, as well. At the very least, there are definitely other pieces in the trade, though they're unconfirmed to this point. General manager Alex Anthopolous was dead set on acquiring some pitching help this offseason, and he's added two big pieces to the rotation in one fell swoop. It appears that he might have added a long-term shortstop, as well. Johnson will make $13.75 million in 2013 before hitting free agency, while Buehrle is set to earn $48 million over the next three seasons.
