Adrian Peterson still breaking up scar tissue
Adrian Peterson - RB - Minnesota Vikings
Nov. 12, 2012 - 10:00 AM ET

Following Sunday's win over the Lions, Adrian Peterson said he's actually still recovering from his reconstructive knee surgery.

Through 10 games, Peterson leads the league in rushing yards (1,128), is third in carries (195), third in yards per carry average (5.8) and tied for second in rushing touchdowns (7). He insists he's still going to get healthier and better. "Last week in Seattle, on one run, I felt scar tissue break up around my patella tendon on one of my cuts," he said Sunday. "That's part of the recovery, that scar tissue breaking." Peterson has the bye to rest up this week.
