Rex Ryan vows to stick with reeling Sanchez
Mark Sanchez - QB - New York Jets
Nov. 11, 2012 - 7:55 PM ET

Coach Rex Ryan told reporters following Sunday's embarrassing, 28-7 loss to the Seahawks that Mark Sanchez remains the Jets' starting quarterback.

The Jets' offense didn't even score a point against Seattle; DE Mo Wilkerson got the seven spot on a 21-yard fumble return. "We're sticking with Mark," Ryan said. "Because I believe we can win with Mark." Sanchez is 3-9 in his last 12 starts, dating back to last season. He isn't the long-term answer, but neither is Tim Tebow. So the Jets will stick with Sanchez because they guaranteed him $20.5 million in an offseason contract "extension." Barring an unforeseen and dramatic turnaround, Ryan's fate as Jets head coach may rest squarely on Sanchez's shoulders.
