Bill Center of the San Diego Union-Tribune believes it would take at least four years and $36 million for the Padres to extend Chase Headley.
The Padres and Headley have yet to discuss a long-term deal, but GM Josh Byrnes made it clear he won't be shopped this winter. Headley was a Super Two player in 2010 and made $3.48 million last season. He still has two years of arbitration before he's eligible for free agency.
