Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer writes that Shin-Soo Choo will not be an Indian beyond next season "one way or the other."
Hoynes notes that the Indians have "tried to extend Choo's contract at least twice," and he doesn't believe Choo's agent, Scott Boras, will have any interest in talking extension at this point with his client nearing free agency. It's possible Choo will play out 2013 in Cleveland before the Indians make him a qualifying offer next winter. Most likely, though, is that he's traded either this offseason or at the July deadline. The Red Sox are one team that's shown interest in Choo, though there will surely be plenty of other suitors.
