Poulter with rare second straight missed cut

Ian Poulter reached the halfway point of THE PLAYERS in 2-over-par 75-71=146 and will miss the cut.
He hit just 22 greens in regulation and converted only five birdies, not enough to offset five bogeys and a double. It's just his second missed cut in his last eight trips to TPC Sawgrass. What's more shocking is that he missed the cut in his last start at the Masters. Poulter hadn't missed consecutive cuts on the PGA TOUR since the first two legs of the 2008 FedExCup Playoffs.
