About the seven groups - The National Dog Show presented by Purina and hosted by The Kennel Club of Philadelphia- NBC Sports

Each of the 175 registered breeds are assigned to one of the seven groups representing characteristics and functions for which the breeds were originally bred. The seven Best In Group winners compete for Best In Show.
