Tiger Woods chased his opening 5-under-par 34-33=67 at THE PLAYERS with another in his second round to reach the midpoint in 10-under 134, one stroke off the 36-hole clubhouse lead.
Woods landed 15 greens in regulation today -- three more than on Thursday -- en route to an eagle and five birdies. He opened his round with a birdie conversion from 11'6" at the par-4 10th hole. After making the turn, he drilled home a putt from 20'6" for a 3 at the par-5 second, and then concluded his round with his final birdie, this time from 18'7" at the par-5 ninth. The world's top-ranked golfer got up and down just one of three times, but the pair of bogeys couldn't prevent him from linking sub-70s at TPC Sawgrass for the first time since the second and third rounds in 2004. Overall this week, he's bogey-free 8-under on the par 5s with an eagle and six birdies.
