Dustin Johnson withdraws from THE PLAYERS
May 10, 2013 - 4:55 PM ET

Dustin Johnson withdrew from THE PLAYERS prior to his second round due to an injury in his lower back.

DJ was scheduled to go off the first tee at 1:39 p.m. ET. He opened with a 2-over-par 36-38=74. Johnson cited an irritated left wrist that prevented him from giving it a go at Quail Hollow last week. He's rapidly evolved from a guy in whom we held our breath to connect four good rounds to a guy we merely hope stays healthy. This isn't what we expect from someone of his athleticism. UPDATE: Johnson alerted his followers on Twitter why he pulled out: "Felt good working out this morning but something didn't feel right on the range before the round. Hoping to rebound at the @hpbnc!!" He's 4-for-4 at TPC Four Seasons Resort-Las Colinas with three top 20s.
