Garcia nets 8 birds; 36-hole clubhouse leader

Sergio Garcia blitzed TPC Sawgrass for eight birdies en route to a 7-under-par 34-31=65 in his second round of THE PLAYERS where he owns the 36-hole clubhouse lead at 11-under 133.
Garcia split 10 (of 14) fairways and hit 15 greens in regulation today. He sat 1-under after a bogey at the par-4 first hole -- his 10th of the round -- before going on a tear. The Spaniard birdied 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 coming in. The run included conversions from 14'11" (second hole), 19 feet (fifth), 26 feet (sixth) and 40'2" (eighth). For good measure, he also poured in a par save from the fringe four yards out at 7.
