ZJ cards his lowest aggregate since January

Zach Johnson opened THE PLAYERS with a 6-under-par 33-33=66, finishing three strokes off the clubhouse lead.
ZJ is 8-for-11 this season but his only top 30 in a full-field event was a T23 at the Humana Challenge in January. He began that event with a pair of 66s; it's the last time he's gone as low as he did today. Johnson found 13 greens in regulation at TPC Sawgrass and circled seven birdies to offset a lone bogey. His longest par breaker was his last, curling in a 33'1" attempt at the par-3 17th hole.
