Matt Capps (shoulder) will begin facing batters this week in the Twins' fall instructional league.
Capps could rejoin the Twins for the final series of their 2012 regular season schedule. He has thrown only 28 1/3 innings this year because of a rotator cuff injury and is likely to have his $6 million club option for 2013 declined this winter. Capps would then become a free agent.
