49ers coach Jim Harbaugh stated after Saturday night's preseason game that Brandon Jacobs' left knee injury is not season ending.
Harbaugh says Jacobs' patellar tendon and ACL are both intact, and the injury is "not the you-don't-come-back-from variety." Harbaugh did acknowledge that Jacobs will miss "some time," but he's apparently escaped a severe tear or rupture of the knee. It sounds like a sprain, possibly a severe one. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that X-rays were negative, but Jacobs will have a Sunday MRI. The Niners will know how much action he'll miss after that.
