Boo Weekley roared into the lead in the final round of the Tampa Bay Championship with a bogey-free 8-under-par 33-30=63, claiming the lead at 8-under 276.
Weekley's round was brilliant, and the lowest of the week by two strokes. The Copperhead Course has been difficult tee to green all week, but he managed to land 15 GIR on Sunday. Creeping up the leaderboard all day, he made his final statements with an approach to 1'11" on the par-3 15th and then followed that with a dart to 1'8" on the par-4 16th to begin The Snake Trap. Posting his number three hours before the overnight leaders are expected to end the day, he likely has a long wait ahead of him to see if he's in a playoff or the winner outright. Should he win, it would be his third on the PGA TOUR and first since going back-to-back at the 2008 Heritage. We next expect to see him at Bay Hill later this week.
