Chalmers has a chance at first PGA TOUR title
March 16, 2013 - 5:20 PM ET

Greg Chalmers turned in a 2-under-par 35-34=69 in the third round of the Tampa Bay Championship to reach the 54-hole mark at 5-under 208.

Nicknamed Snake, perhaps it shouldn't be a surprise that he's in contention on Innisbrook Resort's Copperhead Course. He circled five birdies and swallowed three bogeys in the third round, including a final blemish at the difficult 18th hole. Each of his birdies dropped from inside 12 feet on a day where it was the norm to see short putts missed. He's a veteran of 315 PGA TOUR events and owns two runner-up finishes, but has never hoisted a trophy in a TOUR event.
