Edinson Volquez needs mechanical adjustment

Padres manager Bud Black thinks Edinson Volquez's struggles in his last couple starts are due to a problem with the right-hander's stride.
It's stride direction and stride length, which causes the shoulder to fly open and the head to come offline," said Black. "It's gotten away from him. When things start snowballing a little bit, it gets worse as the inning goes on." Volquez also noticed the problem after watching video of himself and plans to correct the issue before his next start. He'll face the Braves Wednesday.
