Streelman leads in Tampa after bogey-free 65
March 16, 2013 - 3:10 PM ET

Kevin Streelman posted a bogey-free 6-under-par 34-31=65 in the third round of the Tampa Bay Championship to grab the lead in the clubhouse at 6-under 207.

Streelman dissected a difficult Copperhead Course, circling six birdies. He jump started his round with a 21'7" birdie on the par-5 opening hole and never looked back. That would be his longest birdie of the day, but his birdies on the par-3 13th and 17th were both outside of 12 feet, so he had the flat stick working. On a day where any sub-par score is gaining ground on the field, he will have plenty of time to sit back and watch to see if those still on the course crumble around him or push him down the leaderboard. Having never won on the PGA TOUR, it's likely a victory wasn't on his mind when he began today's round tied for 31st.
