Billy Butler had a monster day at the dish in Thursday's 8-2 victory over the Orioles, going 3-for-5 with a double, triple, homer and three RBI.
Butler also scored three times in the offensive outburst. He launched a towering three-run homer off Wei-Yin Chen in the first inning, putting the Royals on top 4-0 and providing more than enough run support for Will Smith. Butler then doubled in the third inning and tripled in the fifth. Needing just a single for the cycle, Butler went down swinging in each of his final two at-bats. He's in the midst of a true breakout season, hitting .303 with a career-high 23 homers and 72 RBI.
