M. Jones sets pace in Puerto Rico third round
March 9, 2013 - 2:50 PM ET

Matt Jones spun a bogey-free 8-under-par 33-31=64 in the third round of the Puerto Rico Open, becoming the first to post 12-under 204.

The Aussie was considered among the favorites entering the week, and he broke through and showed why in the third round. He circled eight birdies to go along with 10 pars in his navigation of Trump International Golf Club-Puerto Rico. He had an opportunity to take it one deeper at the par-5 18th, but could only muster a par. In a day where low scores are the norm, it's hard to know if Jones will even be inside the top 10 at the end of the day.
