Edinson Volquez pitches one-hitter

Edinson Volquez pitched a one-hitter Thursday in the Padres' 1-0 win over the Astros.
It could have been a no-hitter if Volquez could have handled Matt Downs' infield single in the fourth. Regardless, it was a dominant performance; Volquez got 15 outs on the ground and five strikeouts. The Padres have won each of his last five starts, with Volquez amassing a 1.60 ERA during the span. Not only was tonight the first shutout of his career, but it was his first complete game in 110 lifetime starts.
