Wei-Yin Chen was excellent in a no-decision against the Tigers on Saturday, allowing just one run on two hits over six innings.
After Chen yielded a walk to Austin Jackson in the first inning, Prince Fielder delivered a two-out RBI double. But the Orioles left-hander then settled in and retired 15 straight hitters until a walk to Ramon Santiago in the sixth inning. He left with a 4-1 lead that Jim Johnson would inevitably surrender in the ninth. Chen has been the Orioles' best starting pitcher of late, posting a 7-5 record, 3.80 ERA and 83/35 K/BB ratio through 109 innings in his rookie season. He'll look to keep rolling next week against the Twins.
