First-round leader at Honda misses the cut

Overnight leader Camilo Villegas answered his opening 64 at The Honda Classic with a 7-over-par 40-37=77 and will miss the cut on the number.
Villegas posted his number in today's morning wave, but we waited until the cut fell. He sat just below the cut line all afternoon, so it would have required an outrageous turn of events for him to continue. He hit only eight greens in regulation today but failed to convert a single birdie. He whiffed on three putts inside nine feet. He'll move on to next week's Puerto Rico Open where his brother Manuel is also in the field.
