Michael Thompson sets 36-hole clubhouse lead

Michael Thompson carded a 5-under-par 33-32=65 in his second round of The Honda Classic to establish the 36-hole clubhouse lead at 8-under 132.
Thompson entered the week a mere 1-for-4 with a T78 at the Farmers, so the migration to Florida has offered a clean slate. He's hit 14 greens in regulation in both rounds at PGA National's Champion Course while erasing three bogeys with 11 birdies. Four of his six birdies today disappeared from beyond 11 feet and included rolls from 18'4", 19'7" and 20'8" at holes 8, 9 and 16. He also poured in a par save from 11'8" at the seventh hole.
