Schwartzel loses; Match Play schedule revised
Feb. 21, 2013 - 5:00 PM ET

Charl Schwartzel was eliminated in the first round in the Jones Bracket of the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship by Russell Henley, who recorded a 1-up victory.

Thanks to a piping-hot slate in recent stroke-play competition, Schwartzel likely populated many a pick sheet this week, but it was Henley that didn't waver. After opening a 2-up lead with par-birdie, the PGA TOUR rookie didn't let go of the lead despite losing four holes later. He also picked up three wins, one with a biride and two with pars. He advances to face Jason Day in the second round. Due to the considerable delay due to inclement weather, the third round and quarterfinals are scheduled for Saturday. The semis, the championship and the consolation will be contested on Sunday.
