Vikings coach Leslie Frazier hinted Monday that Adrian Peterson (ACL, MCL, meniscus surgery) will begin training camp on active/PUP.
"(Based) on where he is today, everything is moving in the right direction. I don't know if we'll put him on the practice field anytime soon when we get to (camp)," Frazier said. "But everything indicates there's a very good chance he may be ready for (Week 1)." Peterson could be activated at any time if he begins camp on active/PUP, so it wouldn't be a concern if that's where he starts out. He'd be forced to sit out six games if he remained there until the regular season, however. For now, the tea leaves suggest AP will be ready for Week 1.
