Tyler Thornburg allowed five runs over 5 1/3 innings against Toronto in his major league debut Tuesday.
Although he didn't walk a batter, Thornburg gave up four home runs and struck out just two. That's right -- four homers. For a top prospect lauded for a big arm and probably ticketed for the bullpen long-term, it was a bizarre way to go about a bad outing. The injured Shaun Marcum doesn't yet have a timetable to return, so Thornburg may get another start, but after this outing that is far from a lock.
