Bill Haas signed for a bogey-free, 4-under-par 33-34=67 in his second round of the Northern Trust Open.
The defending champion doesn't seem keen on giving up the title. He hit only 12 greens at Riviera today, but saved par all six times. In fact, all three off his notable conversions prevented bogeys. After an 11'1" conversion for par at the 12th hole, he poured in another par save at 14, this time from 13'10". Saving the best for last to retain a blemish-free scorecard, Haas holed out from 16 yards off the green for a 4 at the par-4 18th hole. He's 5-under 137 at the midpoint, four strokes adrift of the 36-hole clubhouse lead.
