Bae drops 9 birdies; 36-hole clubhouse leader

Sang-moon Bae converted nine birdies en route to a 6-under-par 32-33=65 in his second round of the Northern Trust Open and outright possession of the 36-hole clubhouse lead at 9-under 133.
He could have taken it lower but he suffered three bogeys, two of the three-putt variety including a 23-inch miss at the fifth hole. At least he helped offset it with a par save from 10'8" at 14. Meanwhile, of his nine par breakers, five disappeared from beyond 13 feet. The set included conversions of 23'1", 25'4" and 22'9" at the 13th, third and sixth holes, respectively.
