Yu Darvish showed no signs of fatigue in his impressive performance over the Astros on Friday, allowing just two runs on seven hits in his eight innings of work.
Darvish matched his season-high of 11 strikeouts while walking two in the game. He allowed an RBI single to Jed Lowrie in the third inning and a solo homer to Justin Maxwell in the seventh, shutting the Astros down the remainder of the evening. Perhaps seeing the strong results from this outing, the Rangers will utilize off days in the future to allow Darvish to pitch on the five days' rest that he'd grown accustomed to in Japan. He'll take an 8-4 record and 3.57 ERA with him into spacious PetCo Park where he'll battle the Padres on Wednesday.
