Trevor Plouffe went 3-for-5 with a double, homer, three RBI and three runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Phillies.
If you play in a 12-team mixed league and Plouffe is available, you might want to rush to your waiver wire and take a chance on him. He's quietly been one of the best players in the league this month, entering play on Tuesday with a .387 average and 1.295 OPS in June. Since May 28, the Twins are 9-2 in games he's started. Over that 11-game stretch, Plouffe has raised his average from .156 to .231. The former first-round pick, who appeared on the verge of losing his roster spot earlier this season despite being out of options, has finally found a position (third base) and consistent playing time. With his multi-position eligibility, including shortstop, Plouffe's fantasy value is higher than one might assume.
