A-Rod ties MLB record with 23rd grand slam
Alex Rodriguez - 3B - New York Yankees
June 12, 2012 - 10:30 PM ET

Alex Rodriguez tied Lou Gehrig's MLB record by socking his 23rd career grand slam Tuesday against the Braves.

The Yankees trailed Atlanta 4-0 in the eighth inning when A-Rod strolled to the plate with the bases loaded to face Jonny Venters. He worked the count full then tied the game by depositing a Venters pitch over the left field wall. It was A-Rod's only hit of the game, but marked another achievement in his prestigious career. He's now batting .276/.368/.436 with 10 home runs and 29 RBI.
