R.A. Dickey continued his domination of the National League on Saturday, shutting out the Cardinals on seven hits and no walks.
Dickey racked up nine strikeouts in the game. While it wasn't as impressive as teammate Johan Santana's masterpiece on Friday, Dickey was brilliant himself. With the win, he improves to 8-1 on the season and lowers his already miniscule ERA to 2.69. Even more noteworthy is his 70/17 strikeout to walk ratio which is among the tops in the National League. There's no telling how long he can keep this up for, but he has become a must start every week in all formats until further notice. He'll take his baffling knuckleball with him into Washington on Thursday where he'll look to stifle the Nationals.
