Steelers still 'trying' to lock-up Wallace
Mike Wallace - WR - Pittsburgh Steelers
May 26, 2012 - 7:55 PM ET

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Steelers are still trying to sign restricted free agent Mike Wallace long-term.

Wallace will be locked in at an affordable $2.742 million whenever he finally signs his tender, but the Steelers still have designs on avoiding another drama next offseason. Wallace is believed to be seeking the moon, however, making any potential multi-year pact seem unlikely for the moment. Wallace has until June 15 to sign his tender before the Steelers can drop his salary to $577,000.
